Currently honing my writing skills abroad, ready for June 8th in Kalkan. Can't get on with the Samsung Tablet - takes up too much drinking time!

We left the laptop at home,to save on luggage space, and relied on the iPad. Big mistake apart from browsing everything takes 3 times as long, and as you say seriously cuts into the beer drinking time.

Just started to follow Antler's Dubai blog - rather belatedly.    While we wait for his villa experience blog in Kalkan in June we can enjoy following his Dubai experience on Trip Advisor.

Happy birthday Mrs Antler and hope you both have a great holiday in Dubai.

Antler has now packed his bags and left Dubai - been following his Dubai blog on Trip Advisor.

We will now await more news of your "Villa Experience" in Kalkan.    Won't be too long before you have to pack your bags again.

Definitely sounds like a fully functional iPad to me......

No surprise that yesterday, as the West Yorkshire temperature was 4.5C, with a wind chill of 0C, our thoughts turned to Kalkan in just over one haircut's time.....

I could smell The aroma of the burned earhole hair as Mehmet down at Jasmine did his stuff.

And then, to cap it all,he presses down on the lumpy muscles on my shoulders and all the stress of the last year tingkes all down my back and out through my toes.

Suddenly, I am not this stressed out business guy who spends his life on KLM, but a re-born,  holiday...rocker.

Life cannot get any better than this? Surely not.

The only remaining question really, is, should I bother with a Water Hammock or not?

Our villa, has two regular hamocks (get us!) so, what if I get them mixed up? How painfull that would be.

And as I pound my way on that tread mill every night, I can feel myself getting back into those Ralph Lauren shorts all over again.

Ooooh, how good is this?!

Trust me, Steve, a water hammock is a must. We will let you borrow ours for an afternoon in June and you will wish you'd logged on to Amazon (the website that sells everything for the easily influenced) and bought one for yourself. Don't forget, they are not available in Kalkan - there's a halfway house product (a noodle with a net seat) - I've seen in Yali, but its a poor relation to the "real thing". Water hammocks are the future :P and perfect for listening to Steps ;)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

What, more the ultimate "cheese", do you think, BL?!

K4E - I have looked on Amazon and it does look fabulous. I can see the attraction - and the Buy Now button......
Thanks for the tip.

Go on, Antler, press the Buy Now button and have an even more relaxing time in the pool in Kalkan.   You know you are tempted.

Trouble is, unless all the family take one there could be a little fight around the pool for the hammock.   Work out a rota basis or suggest all family member have to take their own if they want to use a water hammock?

TL, I will probably only get to have a go under cover of darkness, roundabout the time I usually loose my shorts. Unless, of course, I am too busy this year playing with my Mini Chopper?

tortoise lady, we took just one between 5 adults last August and I have to say we didn't fight over it.....well in truth, no-one would dare fight with me if I wanted to use it :o :o :-*
It was perfect for the heat in August...didn't use it October but will be taking it next month.

Well, I think it is. I don't think it can be bought for less.......?

Another company was cheapest before p&p at £25.99. But it comes out at £30.98

Well done!

Hi Antler,

Darn tortoise lady warning you not to give away your villa address !  I was looking forward to the canapes, then the orange & almond cake but that's as far as I've read.  Only picked this thread half an hour ago but turkeyfan - you've been hoping to retire in 10 years for 4 to my knowledge.  Is it not getting any closer  ???

Yes guys, that's the one. Cost me about £30 last year, maybe more with delivery. When you think a lilo costs about £10 and most years you leave it behind, I'm thinking it will have paid for itself in another year ;). Have to say they are incredibly comfortable and far easier than a lilo to get on and off.

I am going on Dragons Den.....i have invented a velcro Lilo with matching velcro shorts..this is for people like me who can't stay on the things!!..it would also make it easy to carry around and also ensure you got a comfy seat on the bus.. ;D ;D ;)
