Someone told me recently that Kasko (Turkish equivalent of 3rd party liability insurance) is mostly to cover the costs of car repairs in the event of an accident rather than to cover personal injury liability. This based on the opinion (of that person) that people rarely if ever sue and win a large claim as a result of an auto accident, regardless of the injuries sustained.
If so, why would anyone buy 3rd party liability insurance? If no one is going to bring a legal case, it seems superfluous and excessively costly.
Our insurance company has no one who could clearly explain this in English. Does anyone know for sure what benefits kasko has for the car owner?
