SimonG, what you say is also what I have been told by Turkish friends.  People generally don't sue because it takes years and years of re-hearings and thousands of quid to lawyers before any decision is reached, and then it is often not enforced.   Nonetheless, a question.  Did you buy your Turkish insurance policy from the same company as your buildings and contents insurer?  Or separately from your bank?  May seem a strange question but we did not get our insurance through a bank but directly from an agent in Istanbul.

Hi Martyn. I'm very intersted in the cover you have with Intasure. Is it a villa over which you have full ownership, is it an apartment and Intasure have insured your share of the communal area even though other owners are not with them or is it an apartment and 75% of the owners are with Intasure?

It's an apartment block but we own 4/6 of the apartments, plus one of the other owners also insures with Intasure so that's 5/6 -  so they cover the whole block and all communal areas including the swimming pool.
