TRUE LOVE AT NO NAME

After a night of failures on Saturday, namely the England and Turkey football teams and me to get to the Swan for the footy or to bump into JoanH at Rami's, I dropped in to the No Name bar and noticed a couple dancing inside.  It turned out that they had been visiting Kalkan for over 15 years and were back this time to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!  I felt the need to offer them a few words of congratulation and chatted to this lovely couple for 10 minutes or so.  They then headed slowly home, arm in arm.  I was welling up for a moment then and even now.  Everyone was very touched by them, and even Baza, possibly the softest Alsatian in the world, was more relaxed than usual!

I am sorry if this report of a lovely moment is too positive for some, but as I am apparently one of EK's ostriches when it comes to the negatives, this is what I do.

Fiona and I have got a long way to go to get to 50, as it's third time round for both of us.... still, we chalked up 5 years this year. It's probably pushing it a bit to expect us to get to 50 though.

We celebrated our 35th anniversary last month in a very romantic way. I was in Kalkan and my husband was in England.
