Hi,

Now I''ll be the first to admit Im a bit of a fan of Gusta and I think prefer it to Efes (sorry everyone!) Jules also likes the lager I cant remember the name of with a cactus on the bottle (Mariachi ?) so I thought I would start a bit of a light hearted new thread asking the simple question........... what are your favourite tipples in Kalkan and why....

Have to say TheFeds Ayran and Lemonade was suprisingly ok!

Ajibadem with ice, sitting outside the Mergez after dinner.

Campari & soda sitting outside the Kleo bar before dinner.

PS - What is Gusta - sounds Italian

Hi EK,mariachi ? is that the one with lime already in ? just sat in the garden with a pint of pear cider with plenty of ice,pear cider seems to the "in" thing at the moment and I must say very nice it is too ! weather -sunny,but a bit windy in Bury.

Ajibadem with ice sitting people watching at the Merkez is mine too

closely followed by vodka and mandarin on the balcony watching the sun go down. can''t get the mandarin at home so love it in Kalkan and if I drunk all the mandarin then a vodka and tonic with lots of ice is an acceptable alternative

Cold Efes all night with a couple of Acibaden''s after the meal then a few JD & Cokes sitting by the pool back at the villa.......

After our meal in coast we were given a complimentary drink which was really refreshing and tasty. Upon enquiring as to what the ingredients were we were told:
Vodka, pineapple juice and pomegranite syrup.
It was lovely!

I''ll mirror that sentiment about the Efes. In the past though, sitting outside the Paprika - sadly no more - a nice Absolut/Tonic and a relax on their sofa''s took some beating. Bill

Will go with the vote for Efes...at lunchtime from a table at Trio or one of the nice perches on the harbour under an umbrella....But a gin and tonic (and sorry, it has to be Gordon''s!!) at Kleo by night, watching the moon on the water, takes some beating!!! Will think of you lucky people out there with your fav tipple watching the full moon this weekend!

An Efes sat outside Utopia in the early afternoon, a GTO (Bombay Sapphire and Schweppes tonic with fresh orange juice and ice) ...on the balcony, by the pool, in the pool.

Oh, and a fresh orange or lemonade at Kalamar beach club...deeelish!
MrB will go for the large Efes in a frozen glass everytime, but the GTO back at base....though he will sneak a taste of whatever i''m having!

it sounds such a poseurish thing to say ''Gordon''s'' or ''Bombay Sapphire'' but it''s absolutely true. There''s nothing quite like it. I dont know wine very well but I can certainly spot Gordon''s in a G and T. Weird.

Oh indeed...i can definately tell the difference between Gins.
Bombay Sapphire has a slightly smoother taste than Gordons, Tanqueray is full of flowery flavours and Hendricks tastes of cucumber...and i like them all!

Hi All,
Bassoka and cherry juice with fizzy water seems to be the favourite with the Irish and the Scots in the last few weeks. Lilly of course preferred Gordons and tonic and Angora White. By the way, found a screw top Red. Like Effes Draft at Samira. 4 weeks and we are back!

As a Plymouth girl I should really be in the Plymouth gin camp...and of course I am...until Gordon shows up...then I go weak at the knees...literally!!!
