As im currently enjoying a glass of red wine I thought I would ask the question...... whats your favourite Kalkan tipple? Is there a drink you have in Kalkan you wouldnt normally have at home?

Personally I was a fan of the Cheeky Monkey cocktail (im sure that was its name!) at Coast and Kleo do a mean Mojito!

...... and a special mention for the Brandy Alexander at Doyum!!

Ajibadem (sp?) on ice sitting outside the Mergez.

Runner up would have to be tonic water

I''m also enjoying a glass of red wine at the moment. A fortifying big brandy and coffee at Omar''s enables me to complete the trek up the hill to my villa!

Ah now we did find a nice Rose in Kalkan, cant remember the name but im sure it was at Salt & Pepper..... one of the few places with a different wine list!

psssst...i''''m going to let you in on a little secret, Sainsburys are selling a Spanish rose (medium/dry)table wine in the basics range..it''''s Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£2.49 but tastes like it cost more!!defo better than anything wev''''e had in Turkey ...thats why i stick to efes most of the time in Kalkan

it''s a Turkish almond liquor a bit like Amaretto but not as sweet.

I think Mark has already said it - it''s always the first one, normally an ice-cold Efes for me and a glass of chilled rose wine for Fi, at the Nur bar as soon as we arrive!

On route from the airport we always stop at the garage with the swimming pool....I don''t have to say a word an ice cold Efes just appears in front of me !!!
