Price of Efes?

As the pound gets stronger, does anyone want to hazard a guess how much a large Efes will cost in the Moonlight Bar this summer?

I would offer a prize but, the postage costs to get it to the winner would bankrupt me.

That's the one bar I never use....just can't get comfy on that slope......very interested in what Durali's going to be charging at Kleo though!

The prices are already rising, 8tl at Kleo at this time along with some of the few places open, just under 8tl in others.  Strong thoughts amongst some that it will be 9tl by the summer, it will be interesting to see if there will be an Efes price war.

It will be interesting to see if some bars having to reduce the number of tables will result in further price increases.  KTLN reports from the latest Belediye board meeting that a requirement of the new road resurfacing - which we are told will eventually stretch back as far of the taxi rank - will be that the road area is left clear. Casualties will be the 3 little cabins in front of the post office (Efendi shop, lottery kiosk, barber's hut) - which have to go. There is speculation on whether other premises in the area will also be affected - for instance the Moonlight bar, which in high season can sprawl half way across the road. If the new harbour plans go ahead, many restaurants will also lose a large percentage of table space, which will inevitably lead to price hikes.

That said, compared to the UK, the drinks prices are still great value, and the high exchange rate means that visitors will get a lot more for their money next season.

Moonlight will need that sprawling space during the World Cup in June....it will be interesting. I doubt for one minute they would lose their slope space as they are well established and have been in that spot before Kalkan became the tourist attraction it is now but you never know.....
I think we'll be looking at maybe 9-10tl for Efes in the peak season - but not because the £ is so strong against the Lira, prices rise every year and tax increases will also have some impact.
