price of vodka

please could any one tell me if  it is best to bring in Duty Free Vodka or can it be purchased  at a reasonable  price in the supermarkets  .
I am staying for two weeks with couple of girl  friends  so we may need a few bottles !!!!!!

Bring it in duty free.  2 x 1 ltr bottles of Smirnoff in Manchester airport was £18 last week.

Vodka in the supermarket is about 35 tl a bottle.

In fact, its cheaper to buy it in UK duty free shops than at Dalaman (it was £11 a bottle there) so if you have room, buy it on the way out and put it in your case to take home.

Buy it in the duty free shop.  Usually on offer, 2 litres for around 20GBP.  All imported drinks are expensive in Turkey.  Bars and restaurants sell imported and local vodka.  The local is fine and a lot cheaper than imported.

and usually two litres of blue label:-) always buy it but also always amazed that I never have any to take home

Just out of interest the local vodka was mentioned ,  I was in croatia last year their  local was as good as most imported brands , what is  the Turkish local like , as i guess its a lot cheaper  to drink in the bars  , not that i drink a lot !!
On the subject of bars i have read greats reviews on the Moonlight bar , is this the best bar in town. Sounds really friendly .

once you have a mixer I find it hard to tell the difference! local vodka and tonic is lovely and still a bargain!

Speaking as one who once had a surfeit of the local vodka, I wouldn't drink it again. It tastes a bit oily and creeps up on you. It is very easy to regurgitate though.
The Moonlight bar has the best atmosphere and mix of music in the village.

There are several different brands of local vodka.  I find the best is Binboa or Istanblu.  As its time says with a mixer absolutely fine.  I think Grumpygrampy maybe just had too much and hey..............we've all been there!

Charlie, the wedding was fab - exactly as I had dreamt. And Ahmet and all the Mediteran staff did a wonderful job.  I would definately have not hesitation in recommnending the Mediteran for a special occasion.

Talking of vodka!  Last year the UK Airports stated that you could take 5 litres of spirits into Turkey, but if you go on the UK Airports various websites and also Dalaman Airport website, they are stating that you can only take in 1 litre this year................this won't last me 5 weeks!!!!!!  Does anyone have any info on this?

It was lovely to see you both and your lovely families and friends - it was a really special evening for us....and I even refrained from "bombing" in the pool   Everyone on the forum should know that Kay looked stunning, the speeches were emotional and the setting was perfect - very Mama Mia   (and not a crunchy nut cornflake in sight...)
