Lazy time at the Kelebek
« on: June 24, 2012, 05:29:08 PM »
Hi All,

Now been back a week and finally got around to writing a little report on our fortnight at the Kelebek.
Had a lovely time and can't speak too highly of everyone at the hotel who made our stay so comfortable and relaxing. Neither of us felt particularly dynamic this year and spent an unusual amount of time lying (and in my case sleeping) by the pool at the hotel. The whole family made us feel very welcome and we felt quite happy doing very little.
The hotel itself is clean and basic, but with everything you would usually need on holiday. The pool is small, but fine for a quick dip to cool off (absolute necessity this year) and always just enough sunbeds. We ate in a couple of times and the food was fine. Breakfast on the roof was a treat and the view spectacular.
Notable meals during our stay were at the Nar, Paparazzi, Corner and Doy Doy. When we didn't want to walk too far, we had decent food at the Rose and Kaya Cafe (nice chips and an ideal place to watch the dogs chase the cars on an evening!).
To top it all, we were in the Patara beach cafe when the earthquake hit - an interesting experience when you don't feel too threatened.
Thanks again to Faik and his family for making our stay so relaxing. I'm sure we will be back soon.
Andy & Jane.

Thanks for taking the time to post. It sounds like you had a great holiday. We have never stayed in a hotel in kalkan, always traveled independently, as we like to do our own thing plus, it's usually cheaper with the girls in tow. We've always found that its difficult in turkey to get a hotel room for 4. We enjoyed the paparazzi too at easter and very much look forward to Doy Doy again in July.  :)
