Supermarkets Enroute to Kalkan
« on: August 16, 2011, 01:42:17 PM »
Hi All,

We are returning to Kalkan for our 3rd time (2nd time this year) in September (can't wait). On our first visit to Kalkan we found that the mini supermarkets and markets in Kalkan great for getting bits and fresh produce but we found that choice was limited and they were quite expensive. So on our second visit before we came we did a bit of research on the internet and on our way from Dalaman Airport we made a detour to a much larger supermarket in Fetiye. I could not recommend this highly enough there was a much wider choice of produce and we thought it was considerably cheaper. It also meant that we got to see another town and helped to split up the journey.

Previously we have always flown to Dalaman but this time we are flying in to Antalya. I wondered if anyone can recommend any supermarkets between Antalya and Kalkan that we could stop of enroute and get all our holiday essentials?

Thanks

Martin

Have not been back through Antalya since 2005 but there was a large mall there with everything: including a large Migros (supermarket); your transfer or car rental company should be able to advise.

If your transfer company is going over the mountain road - they will pass by the huge new Ozdilek shopping mall which has a massive KIPA hypermarket (Tesco branded store in Turkey) and also a B&Q and loads of other shops.  If your transfer is going the coast road then the easiest place to go is the Migros which is not far off the road!

Cheers!

Hi thanks for the responses.

We have hired a car from the airport so we can go either way. But I think we are planning on going over the mountain road as it looks quicker. Just Googled Ozdilek shopping mall and it looks like this will be perfect. Thanks for your help.

Much Appreciated.
