Intruder Alarms
« on: October 05, 2010, 09:13:59 AM »
Has anyone had an alarm supplied and fitted recently?  Some time back I received an email from a company offering house alarms (must have deleted it).  From memory they were based in Kalkan.

Whilst I fully appreciate the problems with the erratic electric supply, which could cause problems, I really want to deter the scum that are constantly roaming and waiting for their next victim.

Thanks.

I have bought a small one which will also run on batteries, from UK. It's for sheds really but will make a fair old noise. Plus it doesnt have to be wired in.

Hi Wendy
So when it goes off what happens - have you got someone here to respond / switch it off / reset it etc?

Perhaps you could get it wired to the Jandarma direct so they could react immediately and catch the thieves in the act, and then they could perhaps reset it.
It's just an idea
never buy a house anywhere without an independent surveyors report

Nah, it's just a cheapo model that will make a lot of exterior noise! But I figure it's better than nothing.

try www.maplin.co.uk    enter home and car section click onto alarms.......battery backed alarms come up for sheds /garages etc adaptable for many uses ...you may need to have someone turn it off though unless it has a timer option on it!!!(not sure people would like it till the batteries run down! :o )
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????

...there's nothing more horribly annoying than a house alarm going off incessantly - well perhaps people who mistake WH Smith for a library and stand and read newspapers and magazines instead of buying them >:( .
I think if you have property and fit an alarm - whatever type it is - you should think of your neighbours and always have a keyholder who lives locally who can reset it should it go off - just my opinion!

I'm slightly bored today...wish I was in Kalkan :(
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)
