Fake Jewellery
« on: August 18, 2010, 08:23:12 PM »
Just a warning to visitors to Kalkan. The shop on the front opposite the harbour which openly sells fakes is not the only shop in Kalkan which does. There is a jewellers at the top end of the old village, opposite Abi Travel, which also sells fake jewellery but does not inform the customer that it is fake. It is probably safe to assume that all the jewellery shops are selling fake stuff so be on your guard and don't get conned as my wife did.

Did you ask if the item/s you got conned on were fake stevo ?
And did you pay the price you would expect to pay for the real Mc coy ?

Do you mean Yardan? Surely not. I think you need to substantiate your reasons before making this accusation.

Surely you checked the items first, my wife purchased a fantastic cut diamond no problems with certificates all checked out back in the UK...infact we had a result on the UK valuation.

I cannot believe you mean Yardan.  I have known him for several years and this year he helped me redesign my engagement ring using the original stone.  He went out of his way to ensure I had exactly what I wanted. He also didn't try to suggest I buy a larger stone from him, or a more expensive ring.  The ring is beautiful and his attention to detail and service was excellent.

Maybe Stevo is talking about Just Silver rather than Yardens? Just Silver also sell alot of fake Tiffany, Links etc?

Sorry, misread the top end of the town.  Yarden jewellery is bespoke and he makes some really unusual pieces which are all genuine, I did notice he has recently started selling fake Pandora bracelets and charms at very cheap prices, maybe this is what Stevo is referring to?  Although these are fake, they are quite good quality and alot cheaper than England prices.  Yardens jewellery shouldn't be confused with the 'fake' designer jewellery that he sells in his shop.

I also had a diamond and ruby ring remade entirely by Yardan's jeweler, and the stone replaced in another ring.  Yardan is a knowledgeable and serious jeweler, I seriously doubt anyone got conned by him.  Would the poster kindly post the evidence?  Or is this just another case of unwarranted slander?

I would like to say that I recently had some jewelery made by Yardan and it is absolutely first class.

I am almost sure we have another WUM.  I would like this "claim of fake" substantiated, slander and libel spring to mind!  Like other posts, I have never had a problem, UK valuations have been VERY impressive, and I will continue to patronise the local jewellers - no problem at all.

Likewise- We have know Yarden for many years and he is a charming man. He has also made bespoke jewelry for me and it it has been outsanding, in our opinion these allagations should be completely disregarded and removed

What Im trying to get accross is that Yarden is selling a small selection of fake Pandora charms which maybe this is what Stevo has bought and is referring to but this should not be confused with the genuine jewellery Yarden has in his shop

I've never bought from Yardans but know they have an excellent reputation. I'm sure anyone buying 'Tiffanys' from Just Silver would know they were fake.....especially as you can buy charms for a few pounds....have a rather nice 'Tiffany' necklace from there myself. his own designs though are unique and beautiful. As 'they' say....you get what you pay for?!

Whatever the original poster's intention it has resulted in some good publicity for the shop he was trying to denegrate.

Yardan is a smashing bloke..we have known him for a long time..Mrs L was working in jewellery trade for many years (manager of Walker & Hall/Goldsmiths) and knows her stuff....she often spends time and money with Yardan...always commenting on the quality and designs..i don't like to see his name put down like this....if you don't like it take it back next time you are in kalkan..Yardan will take it back i'm sure and he will still offer you friendship as well

I also have never brought from Yarden's, I'm sure any one buying from Just Silver and Yarden's would be informed if the item they wanted was a fake. Both of these companies have been in Kalkan a long time and have excellant reputaions....
Yet another trouble maker trying to bring Kalkan and retailers down............Why!!!!!!!!!
Are they really that SAD and have got nothing better to do.............................
