The derelict hotel on Kalamar Road

Something ive been wondering for a long time......... does anyone know why the first hotel on Kalamar road is derelict, It would be in a fantastic location if it ever opened........ wonder if it ever will? Seems a shame to let it go to rack and ruin

If you mean the one opposite Cafe Vita and Kalamar Teskom, I had heard the delay on doing anything with it was due to a family dispute (as it often is); however, when I was there in June I saw a for sale sign for the first time and had heard that it had been sold.


It is a great site.  It would be great if they could do something retro with the existing structure.

That hotel up Kalamar by the Vita?......It was some family dispute!! it belonged to two brothers of turkish /german extraction...one killed the other and was serving a very long sentence in clink...my sources are from a turk who was a neighbour and i have no reason to doubt him

There is another derelict hotel in the centre of the town opposite the Kindagarden school, it has been empty for years and looking very sad...does anyone know anything about this one
