Hi All,
I noticed that some people on Trip Adviser have been giving the Samira Deluxe a bit of a rollicking recently and wanted to set the record straight over exactly what the story is.
We found the hotel to be fine. Not over the top luxurious but perfectly adequate. The bar men are all quite friendly as is Fatima in reception but if you have young kids, beware as she's a bit of a feeder and you might find your 1 year old with a face full of chocolate while you're on the internet!!
The rooms are emaculately cleaned every day and the hotel is always spotless. Ramizan and his wife did all our cleaning and were very friendly at all times. Everybody loves kids and will pay attention to them all the time.
We have to say that it is a bit isolated up there at the moment with the way the road is and the taxi fares aren't trying to be helpful. The free mini bus is ok but very limited because of the taxi dispute and so it can be a bit of a long walk into town.
At the time of writing, the main road was tarmacked on one side and was accessible again but for about 3 or 4 days last week, it was a nightmare. On this issue, the hotel was a little bit unhelpful in that they were unwilling to accept their responsibility to provide access across the road works. After a bit of complaining, they paid for a taxi to the bus station though.
Don't bother asking any questions at reception between 7pm and 6am as the night guy is a bit lazy.
