Day trip from Kisla
« on: April 23, 2010, 12:54:52 PM »
We are thinking about going into Kas or Fethiye for a day.  As we are staying in Kisla does that mean we would have to go into town to get a bus/dolmus or can we go up to the main road and flag one down?  Or do we just hire a cheap car and get it delivered.

There is a stop by Luka restaurant (on D400) for the Kas bus, not sure where the next stop along from there is. You would probably need to go to the bus station for the Fethiye bus. Car hire is very reasonable in Kalkan, we've always used Abi Travel and it works out at about £25/30 per day depending on how many days you have it. I see Adda are offering a jeep in early season for £150 for a week - which seems like a good deal if you want a car for longer. We've used the bus service for Kas and hired a car for visiting Fethiye and other areas a bit further afield - just for the sheer convenience. Abi have always delivered the car to our accomodation, I'm sure the other companies offer the same service.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

I took the bus to KaÅŸ yesterday and they picked up and dropped off pretty much anywhere.  I would imagine the same would be true for Fethiye - if you see a bus on the road with a 'Fethiye' plate hanging in the window and you wave it down, they will happily pick you up and you can pay on board.
