Calling all doggy owners in Kalkan ...
« on: February 02, 2010, 05:13:16 AM »

Can anybody tell me,  is there an actual pet shop in Kalkan. I know of one in Kas and of course Kent's vets in Fethiye but am unsure where I can buy the heartworm and flea tabs other than going out of town.  This is just one of the many things on my list .....  becasue the big day is coming up so fast.
Its just over four weeks to go and me and the dogs are leaving the UK   :D  :D  to start a new life.
A big thank you to you all , everyone has been so helpful , as I am going out on my own its great to know you guys are always here for advice.
In the meantime .... back to the packing  :-\

There is an excellent, English speaking, full time vet in Kalkan. For our three cats and two dogs, we use him regularly. He supplies all requirements from medicines, leads, toys etc to a wide range of pet foods (considerably cheaper than local supermarkets)

He also does all the neutering operations on dogs and cats and all ours have been neutered there. He has also very successfully performed complex eye surgey on one of our dogs, injured by a close encounter with a porcupine.

The vet's name is Ibo. His surgery is open monday to saturday from approx 09.00 to 18.00 hrs - later in summer. He also does emergeny calls out of hours.  The location of the surgery is on the road where Adda supermarket is, on the first floor in the building immediately to the right of the Cati restaurant.

His telephone number is (0090) (0) 533 263 5063

Your animals will be in good hands with Ibo to look after them

Thank you so much Will , you have no idea how relieved I am to know all about Ibo. You also answered my worry about food for them as I checked the supermarkets on my last trip and noted the price :(   I forgot to mention in my previous post I am a lady moving out on my own to Kalkan , having done numerous
solo trips ,  so the welfare of my dogs has been a huge concern for me...... so once again many thanks for your reply.
