Holiday Photos
« on: August 14, 2009, 01:19:53 PM »
I would have liked to upload these pics to the gallery here on EK, but I'm too lazy to resize them again, so have uploaded them to Flickr.  Some of them are a little fuzzy, but others are just fine.

They were taken on our first trip to Kalkan between 18th and 31st May 09.  We stayed at the Fidanka Hotel in Kisla, which was gorgeous.  We went on several trips which included visits to Myra, Simena, Demre, Kekova, Gombe and the Green Lake.  We also went on two lazy days at sea, which were fab.  All in all we had an amazing holiday and really hope to get back there next summer.

Hope you enjoy the pics.  :)

Cheers Mrs EK!  I took a lot (over a thousand!), so there were loads of duds!     Not too difficult to take decent pics out there though - it's so damn gorgeous!

Oh, the beach - we drove past it on our way towards Kas - it's at the end of a gorge type thing.  Might have been Kaputas beach...?  ???

Ahhh yes it will be Kaputas didn't recognise it from that angle. I thought you'd discovered a new sandy beach we hadn't been to.

Thanks all  :)

The Fidanka is in Kisla, just over the road from Bob's cafe.  I've never been anywhere like it, it's quite eccentric and quirky, and of course very beautiful.

Hi Claire,
Lovely pictures. We stayed in Kalkan this year in June at the Asfiya Hotel. We did fancy the Fidanka very much but were told that the beds were only a standard double not a king size/twins. Is that really the case?

Thanks winniemocker.  The bed we slept in (our room was Ladin suite) was almost certainly a king.  We're not 100% sure as at home we sleep in a superking, so the Fidanka bed felt smaller - but not THAT much smaller, so our money is on king.  Hope that makes sense!!

What was the Asfiya like?

Thanks for your reply Claire. The Asfiya was beautiful, will certainly go back at some point and will probably try the Fidanka as well!

Hi Claire - fantastic photos, you certainly have a gift for taking lovely shots! - We have hired a villa late September which apparently is near the Fidanka Hotel - can you tell me is the hotel open to the general public? -  it looked stunning and thought we might pop in sometime for an Efes or a lovely meal on the rooftop - or maybe even both at the same time!! - kind regards, Irene
