Hi Irene, glad you like the pics.  :)  Yep, the Fidanka's roof-top restaurant is open to non-guests - pop in and they'll treat you really well.  The food is lovely - especially the various kebabs which are divine (my favourite was the chicken).  The only dish I thought was  a bit blah was the sea bass, but I enjoyed everything else.   ;D  The roof-top terrace itself is so sweet and colourful and fragrant with all the flowers.  Oh wow, I wish I was there now!!!!   :'( :'( ;)

In terms of nipping in for an Efes, I saw one or two non-guests in for a drink - they sat at the pool-side bar, which is also delightful.

Let me know how you get on  :)

Hi Claire - this sounds great - whilst its lovely to go into Kalkan at night, it will be most convenient just to walk to the Fidanka on a balmy evening, for a lovely meal and a sundowner! - apparently it is very close to the villa we have hired - I will let you know how we get on, but we are not going until 20 September,  I cant wait!!  Thanks again for the lovely photos and the advice - Irene x

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time Irene!  :)

You might also want to try Bob's Street Cafe which is just over the road from the Fidanka.  To describe it as 'no-frills' would be fair, but the food is good (we had sea bass and sea beam cooked on the BBQ, followed by Bob's crumble - to die for), and so is the service, and the views over to Kalkan are quite lovely.  It doesn't have the romantic quality of the Fidanka, but it's charming in its own way.

Look forward to hearing your experiences once you get back!  :)

Hi Claire  - any recommendations always welcome - Bobs had also been mentioned to us by the villa owner, so glad to give both a try - contact you on our return to let you know how we got on - thanks once again!

Irene - we have just returned from Kalkan and stayed at a villa very close to Bobs. We had one evening meal there and also a lunch time snack on the day we left. One night after a long day trip we also had a meal delivered to the villa and the plates were collected the next day. The food was excellent and the guys who served us couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. On the day we left they gave us 6 bottles of water for a journey home and on one occasion gave my elderly father in law a lift back to the villa on a moped.

Awesome photos Claire they really capture the atmosphere of the place. We're off on Monday, looking forward to it even more after seeing those, will certainly be going to some of the places you've pictured that we haven't visited yet. Looks great, thanks!! 8)
