White Wine
« on: July 26, 2009, 03:15:52 PM »
I have scoured the existing messages but cannot find anything recent on this subject.

Coming out tomorrow. What would people recommend as a good white wine to order in Kalkan restaurants. At home we like to drink Sauv Blanc and Pinot Grigio.

Sorry if I appear to be posting a lot of new topics at present but have never been to Turkey before and keen to learn as much as possible about the place and its culture. Have dusted down the suitcases and checked that passports are still OK. 21 hours to go!!! ;D

Also, Cankaya is light and refreshing.  As a pinot drinker at home, I really like this.

Hotspur - they are all lovely wines when it's 35 degrees plus!  After that performance v Celtic last night, you might consider leaving your TH shirts at home!  Next match on here on Wednesday at 1230 noon.  Swan pub definitely showing it

Try Konak wine from Can Can on the Kalamar road - opposite Beyhan apartments - it is 4.99 TL a bottle and once its chilled its OK
They also have red - equally everyday drinkable wine  :D

I find Angora to acidic, prefer Cankaya, Senfoni or Kavak.

The Majestic red is also good, we found it better than Angora.
