stay at likyia residence

 :) :)
This is a lovely hotel.  We stayed for 2 weeks at the beginning of July and could find fault with very little.  All of the facilities are first class, the staff are efficient, friendly, and good fun without being pushy - that's a hard trick to pull off consistently.  Volkan (Jimmy) does a wonderful job of hosting the restaurants and bars - you really feel a bit like part of a big family by the end !  The food is excellent, breakfast and dinner in particular - lunch is less exciting but maybe that was the food we chose.  Lunch isn't a big event for us on holiday anyway, especially when it's so hot.  And afternoon tea was a nice surprise !!  The rooms are beautiful and all have stunning views of the bay -as does the whole property - we saw 3 dolphins playing one morning when we were having breakfast. The spa is also gorgeous, although it's a bit odd having treatments sometimes as the staff in there don't seem to speak very much english - hey ho - i can't speak turkish !
think they may have to spend lots of money replacing the pool lounger cushions - which are very comfy but getting a bit 'used'.
it's a nice length stroll to town and back - enough to help digesting dinner and maybe keep the extra holiday pounds off, especially if you choose to come back up the hill ( i came back a pound lighter which i felt was an achievement) !
finally - just wanted to say - please don't let kalkan be over developed otherwise the very thing that attracts people will be spoiled in yet another destination.  encourage upgrades of existing properties by all means - but please let the expansion be strictly limited.
loved our holiday ! ;D
