Misty - the Likya website is www.likyakalkan.com or you can find it on Tapestry and The Turquoise Collection sites. Looks amazing!

I think they may have just doctored the photo as the Likya is pirched above that big chunk that is blasted out of the hillside on the way round the dirt road leading from the beach club.  There were some very dodgy looking steep steps and pathway coming down from the residence onto the track when I walked around that part of the bay last year with nothing to hold on to.

Anyone know why there is a big chunk missing? Always confused me that one!

Maybe when they were extending the bay around that way a lot more fell away than they were expecting hence the weird shape of it ;D  I always thought that maybe that''s where they got a lot of the local stone from  :)

The hole is like a very small quarry but it has now been planted with hundreds of oleander, hibiscus etc. It has a proper path leading down to Kalkan Harbour. The new restaurant sits in front of a new swimming pool with decking on stilts over the edge of the " hole". Just make sure you don''t have too many Efes!

We just got back today and thought I would let all you ladies (or gents  ;)) that the spa at the Likya is fantastic. I''m not sure if anyone else has been yet? I''d been dying to try it out so treated myself to the hot oil massage and would highly recommend it. The spa is beautiful, really luxurious and much better than some of the spas I have been to in England at five star hotels. The hotel is also very luxurious- the pool and sunloungers look fab- so anyone staying there will have a great time!

The lower pool is open to non residents. It is lovely and they have the most luxurious matresses on their sunloungers. You need to buy food and drink but they make no charge for using the facilities.

I would say slightly more expensive than places like Atlantis but you are paying for the nicer facilities. If you email them i''m sure they could send you a price list. Here is the email address: info@likyakalkan.com

We went to the outside restaurant there last week and the meal was fantastic. There is a thatched roof circular bar where you can get really good cocktails, mohitos, long island iced tea etc. Menu had some unusual dishes and service was excellant costs were similar to Trio and Aubergine. Manager was Jimmy who used to be front of house at Gironde. The setting is fabulous and you look out towards the harbour and Kisla. I think it will do very well. Went again later that week just for drinkies before we walked into town they were really welcoming

I have to disagree. My husband ahd I thought the portions were fine, the service was spot on and all was as per the menu. I really felt it was a great venue. We are all different, but I felt the prices and quantities same as Aubergine and Trio. The bread I got on the night was hand made rolls and were really yummy.
