Beach club update
« on: July 13, 2009, 01:46:38 PM »
Thought those who are going out soon may find this update useful.

Kalamar have reintroduced the free taxi shuttle.

Dimitri has moved from Kalamar to Palm Beach.

Tha Palm Beach Club is now our favourite.  The team there along with Blue Marlin watersports are in our opinion are the best.

First one round the bay past the town beach. Catch the free shuttle boat at the harbour.

...yes Palm has our vote this year too. We tried them all this year, to see if there was any changes, and Palm just got better. Dimitri and the team really looked after us and the trampoline is a great addition - now if they can warm the water up too...it would be perfect ;D ;D

We too were impressed with Palm Beach Club this year, spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff.  Had a lovely lunch on the shaded ottoman seating area and thought the menu had something for every taste, very reasonable prices too.  Now with the addition of the trampoline, I can see it is going to be very popular with families this year.

My son was very pleased to know that he was the first visitor to use the trampoline last Friday.  If you do not like cold water stay clear.

"Kalamar have reintroduced the free taxi shuttle."

Does this mean water taxi or road?
Looking forward to visiting the 'new' Palm Beach Club when out next week.

Well Neil - not sure about coming to their senses as they are still making money but not out of the visitors coming to Kalamar but the beach club themselves who are paying!!

TIP - my boys were warned NOT to pay the taxi driver as sometimes in the 'confusion' the taxi drivers end up getting paid twice by the beach club and unsuspecting guests who think they have to pay..!!!

Cheers!

visited Kalkan Beach Park a couple of times last week. Free boat-taxi from the harbour and no charge for sunbeds/umbrella. Food and drink was reasonable and they have a free trampoline and a water flume which is free for children. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Hi Kim, we're just back from Kalkan and went to Kalamar Beach Club. The cost for four for the day was about 150tl. We had lunch, beers, icecream, fresh orange juices, bottles of water and were there from about 10.30am till 5pm. The cost of the beds was 12tl per person - they are simply adding the cost of the taxi to your sunbed. One morning the Palm Beach water taxi wasn't working so they ordered taxis to take us by road and that charge was not applied to our bill :D

We went to the new beach club in kas earlier in the week, table tennis, volleyball a great little restaurant and warm water. Sunbeds were 1 1/2tl, quite a difference

Right...I think I am just probably being a little bit dumb...but would someone please explain to me what exactly these beach clubs are? Why you need to take a water taxi to get there? Etc etc...

We have never been to Kalkan before and would like to get the full experience but I am getting confused about things to do because I think most people on here have been before and understand what is being talked about.

Any help would be much appreciated!  ;D

A beach club is basically a large concrete jetty with parasols and loungers ,they are done very nicely with nice surroundings and facilities, easy access into the sea and water sports..you will also find food and drink ..a nice day close at hand ;)
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????
