Likya Residence and Asiyan
« on: April 28, 2008, 12:08:09 PM »
Was hoping to try the new Likya Residence in June but it now seems that first bookings have slipped to 30th June.  Anyone noticed progress?  Instead, tempted to try the Asiyan next to the Swan Pub, but pool looks a bit "public", yet sea views seem blocked by the Moroccan style apartments in front.  Do like to lie by the pool and overlook the bay - the ex Mina and Elite were ideal - pity they were not kept on as hotels. Yali a bit too small so I can''t think of any other central hotel with a pool with sea views - any suggestions?

How about the Mediteran (direct bookings to ahmet@turkeycoastline.com) - has a shuttle service so may as well be in the centre! or the Samira Deluxe or Rhapsody- all have views of the bay from pool area.

Mediteran and Semira Deluxe too far out -don''t want to depend on courtesy bus or particularly a return taxi!  Some odd reports on the Rhapsody on TA on staff attitudes - banning shop bought water and wine despite people also spending money at their restaurant and bar.

try the Emir apartments, or the Nur Hotel. Both are good.

Only heard good things from people that have stayed at the Emir!

I can vouch for the Nur Hotel. Very friendly. Not exactly overlooking the sea but great views anyway (especially from the roof terrace restaurant) and only a short stroll into town. Baris (the owner) is also a perfect host.

With only two of us, we prefer the sociability of a hotel - pity the Emir didn''t keep the bar going. Have considered the Pasha and Korsan apartments, but have been put off by posts on the former from large family group bookings.  Have stayed at the Nur - OK but now the main pool is restricted to the apartment owners and the old olive grove behind a building site am not keen.  May have to book an apartment though, because with the luxury of 3 weeks this year, Tapestry are quoting high prices blaming the airlines for upping the price of flights for 3 week returns. ( will open this subject as a new thread!)
