Hiya all.
A lot of members seem to own villas/apts in kalkan, with gardens I would think, why dont those members with access to a garden in kalkan plant a lime tree each and sell them, you could become "The
Kalkan lime growers collective" and beat the taxi drivers at their own game, and who knows, you could soon have a little lime orchard, then we could have all the limes we could ever want.
I am serious,it could be a nice little earner for someone.

Great,I think we should all club together and buy a very small plot of land, with a couple of goats, plant afew
lime trees then we can have drinks with a slice of lime and jump on the goat droppings with blingy flip flops
on to our hearts content. sounds like good fun to me !

If all the "lime" trees in kalkan are lemon trees, does anybody know when the "lemons" turn from green to
yellow,I have been to kalkan 5 times now ,in different months and I cant recall seeing any yellow lemons
on the trees,am I just not in Kalkan at the right time or do kalkan lemons not turn yellow ?
If any of the members have any info, can they let me know.

Fidimax - I think that lemons ripen in February/March, like oranges.  Also think that Kalkan is too cold in the winter for limes - oranges & lemons will stand some frost but limes won''t.

Whilst on the subject of limes, could anyone tell me what lime cordial is in Turkish, as we have trouble everytime we are there.  We do take bottles out there with us, but unfortunately I can''t seem to fit it into my bag, when we are out for dinner!!!!

We had ripe yellow lemons in May. There are still plenty of fruit at various stages of ripeness on the trees.

Dawn,
try decanting it into a smaller bottle to fit into your bag. Boots and most chemists do small plastic containers.
