Stayed at Hisarnou this year, as we have done for the past 6 years. This year we hired a car for a few days and drove down to Kalkan....and WOW was it worth the drive!!!!!!! We fell in love with the place straight away!!!!! We are going back next year for a week...then transfering back to hisarnou for our 2nd week. We carnt wait. We love turkey very much...and Kalkan is just wonderful!!!!!!!

Can any one recommend a SMALL B & B with views over the bay please!!!!!

Many Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, Debs.
Lovely to know that Kalkan can work its magic on a daytripper.
Have a look at the Accommodation and Hotel thread and also the Accommodation Section on the main web site page as there are some good savings to be had at some of the Hotels advertising there.
Also have a good read through the forum including the "back pages" for lots of ideas, places to go, see and do.
If you have any questions, please ask away......someone will know the answer!!
Joan

Welcome Debs. Kalkan seems to have the same effect on us all. I can recommend the Kelebek Hotel, its a small family run hotel with amazing views across to the islands. Only downside it''s up a steep hill from the town, but aren''t most places in Kalkan. It is however extremely handy for the market which ends at it''s front steps although you won''t hardly hear a sound from the market traders as they set up the previous evening.

Hi Debs

We will be returning to the Ekin Han in September our 3rd visit. We had our first holiday in Turkey 2006 and after a lot of research chose Kalkan and the Ekin Han Hotel.  We have never before returned to the same hotel.

Zanel the owner (who is rather a character) and his staff are great, nothing is too  much trouble; the views are to die for! only problem  is the uphill walk from town but it is well worth it.  The hotel is spotless with a lovely pool and sunbeds.   We use taxi''s to return after our night in the Kalkan.  The chef is excellent and puts on a very good breakfast which does include fruit juices and always homemade pastries.  We tend to have our evening meal  a couple of times during our stay at the hotel.

Most visitors are repeats and book direct with Zanel with a taxi from the airport.

Only 3 weeks to go can''t wait!

Where - ever you choose I''m sure you can''t go wrong in Kalkan.

Boo

Hi Debs,
we too have stayed at the Ekin Han, got rather a good deal from Jewel in the Crown Holidays, that was some time ago though. I have to endorse what boo says, this is a lovely hotel in a very peaceful setting with stunning views. Only down side is that it is a bit out of the way. The hotel and pool area are spotlessly clean.
If I remember rightly Zanel was a bit of an opera fan.

I don''t think Jewel in the Crown are agents for Ekin Han any longer, the hotel does  most of  its bookings direct,  which if you can get reasonable flightn prices works out cheaper. However, Buzzy travel who are based in Marple, Cheshire, are advertising Ekin Han.
