Good fish resturants
« on: July 04, 2008, 10:50:21 AM »
Hi, Off to Kalkan for first visit on the 14th July with family of non meat eaters :-(. Can some one offer best resturants for good fish @ reasonable prices please. In the past I have found it takes time to find a good one.
Thanks
John

There are 2 excellent fish restaurants in Kalkan, the fish terrace, a well established very popular restaurant and the Sandal fish restaurant. This is a new restaurant and offers wonderful dishes served simply which is how the locals would eat their fish, their fish mezes and fish soup are fantastic if you are a fish lover an absolute must.

Sandal is below the Pirat Hotel on the harbour, Korsan Fish Terrace is at the other end of the harbour (beach side), a level up. People on the forum have also mention the Extinct fish restaurant which is to the side of the Tesko supermarket.

We really enjoy the fish at Extinct and are usually treated to a walk round his garden, looking at his herbs etc.  The amber jack is particularly delicious, served a couple of different ways, both equally succulent.  Yum, my mouth is watering at the thought.

BTW, OH was at home the other day and random Gourmet Food guy knocked on the door selling luxury frozen food items.  He said he could get amberjack for us, freshly frozen and shipped from Turkey (where else?)
