Mahal beach club
« on: September 15, 2013, 06:03:50 PM »
Hi all - want to try out this beach club when we come to kalkan next week. Where abouts  does the boat leave from in the harbour and anyone know the times. Any other tips for the beach club would be welcome. Thanks all - 5 days and counting till some kalkan sunshine!!

The boats for the beach clubs leave from the side of the Fener cafe to the left of the harbour, looking out to sea. There are no set times, they just leave as and when!

Hi WEB,
Mahal Beach Club is lovely and peaceful but in my experience it is the most expensive of all the beach clubs, just so you are aware. It's a really nice lunch menu and the views are pretty spectacular. All the water taxis have the name of their beach clubs clearly displayed so there's no chance of you jumping on the wrong one. Mahal's boat is the swankiest so you won't miss it.
As Babs said, they are just in front of Fener cafe.
Please let us know how you get on
Have a great stay :)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Thank you. When you say expensive do you mean for lunch/drinks or just the daily charge. If the views are to die for and peaceful it could be worth it. It's not that we would go every day, just to see what a beach club is all about.

Hi WEB
It's just compared to the other beach clubs everything is just that little bit more expensive. It's really lovely and the way its set out there's a lot of privacy and space between the sunbeds on the platforms. We don't have a problem paying a bit more as its a nice way to spend the day. We probably go to Mahal once whilst we're in Kalkan - didn't get there at all this year - just for a change of scenery :)
Our personal favourite is Palm Beach Club, which has a lovely vibe, also spectacular views and probably the best lunch menu of any of the beach clubs in terms of price, quality and choice. Also their cocktails are wonderful and for me the best part of the day is sitting on my sunbed, cocktail in hand watching the boats return from their day out at sea. That's just my opinion, of course....we all have our favourites :)

We think that Palm Beach Club nudges Mahal Beach Club into 2nd place on our list of favourites.  If you have chance to, I'd recommend visiting them both so you can make your own minds up.

Haven't done Palm beach but we had a day last year at Mahal beach club and we really enjoyed it. As Kalkan4eva says it is nice and peaceful and you get a lovely lunch there. Not sure if we'll be doing any beach clubs next week, will they still be open? It could just be a week by the Pirat pool :) :) :)

HolmfirthNicky, all the beach clubs will still be open next week. Palm does tend to close earlier than the others mid October, but they throw a great closing party  :)
