Must admit I looked on there at those door wedges as a possible deterant. Cheap enough to leave them behind for others to use as a piece of mind bit of security.

my dog going crazy under the curtains was enough to scare thieves off of my terrace! He maybe small but makes a lot of noise when his sleep is interupted! Extra treats for him the next day

You can also buy a magnetic alarm that fits to any window or door and screeches a 115 decibel alarm if that door or window is opened.  These cost about TL 5.  I bought mine in the hardware store in Kas but someone in another thread said you can buy them in Kalkan in the market.  As they are adhesive, you'll need to clean up the door / window before leaving if you are renting.

Please be aware that despite increased attention lately, the burglars are still active in Kalkan. It would appear that at the weekend two apartments were broken in to in the Ortoalan area. Same routine, entering property while guests in their beds.  Very worrying and unless the Kalkan authorities get a grip of this issue and capture the culprits it is most certainly going to affect its reputation.
