On the trip to Kekova today, it was hot. Very hot. Glad of the AC in the bus.
This aftenoon, as we glided over the Sunken City we saw a cloud. Relative to the size of the sky, it was kinda Kofte size - and shape.

Nice Driver Man says it was 40 something in the sun today, and 31C in the bus. I never thought it would be like this in June. The gauge on the patio has just dropped to 31C, as the Chicken Paella bubbles slowly in tne oven.

I know the night will end around midnight, with the need to swim before, to get cold enough to sleep - until the sun rises at 7.50am when it will already be in the late 20's......

Phew what a scorcher.

I don't think it was that hot in August last year - certainly don't remember it higher than 36C then and we were there for three weeks. Enjoy your yummy sounding paella. You could see if K4E wants some - she had her toenail removed today!! $:-\$

I know, Skunk, and I am always dubious of temperature claims. Suffice to say it is hot and not really that humid. The last two holidays, I have arrived in Mussakka with a stream of sweat running down my chest. Not so this time, coming in June, rather than July and August.

I think the patio gauge is a few degrees higher than reality.

The paella was lovelly, thanks, and even more so with the excitement of 2 Labrador puppies playing in the olive grove in front of the villa. They must be 5 months old, fit and healthy....and bundles of fun. One chocolate, one black...

Hi Max,
If you look in the section above Holiday Reports, you will see a thread running at the moment called "Water Hammock". Have a read of that, plus:
We bought ours on line before we came. It is the Kelsyus brand. Cost around £30 plus delivery and took several days to arrive. I didnt open it at home as I am not sure I would have got it back in its bag. It went in the bottom of a large-ish suitcase, and when I opened it up, I managed to let it whack me in the face, as the perimeter has a fibreglass rod in it to give it shape and rigidity, rather like those fast erect tents you can buy....

I think you are right. I have seen the instructions and its not looking good. Worse than B&Q flatpacks. Definitely will need a bottle of Lal first!

If you're coming out to Kalkan now, don't believe the ktln website temperatures. This morning here in Kalkan at 5am it said 14 deg C. The digital thermometer on our balcony said 28 deg C!

Been here 12 days now. Max says 40.5 but that was just one day last week, more like 35 at the moment. Min says 26.5 so not unbearable at night. Live weather on ktln at 08.23 says 21 deg, our digital thermometer in the shade says 32.6 deg!
