Kaptan Restaurant Jazz Night

Hi Everyone

Last night seven of us decided to go to the Kaptan Restaurant on Kalamar Rd as they were holding a Jazz night.  I do not usually like to give bad feedback but in this instance I feel the need to.  The service was appauling, food just ok and drinks extremely slow to arrive.  We arrived around 8pm and the restaurant was quite busy, we asked on arrival how long the wait was and we was advised 20 minutes so we decided yes we will give it a go.  Two and a half hours later we were still waiting for our meals, service was very slow and hardly anyone was eating.  When the food finally arrived one of the meals was missing, when we complained the restaurant owner had full blown fit at one of the chefs, and no sign of an appolgy infact the owner suggested we shared our food with the unfortunate customer who had to go without meal, I quote "Cut it in half", when we asked for the missing meal to be boxed up it never arrived. In hind sight we should have walked but its easy to say that now.  However the music was really good and i would suggest eating elsewhere and going for a drink but be prepared to wait for drinks to arrive.

I read your post with great interest as we had exactly the same experience at the other Kaptan near the harbour last year.  Really poor service, long wait, slow drinks, rude waiters - in fact exactly the same as you describe.  Very mediocre food as well. Never ever going back to either of them.

We have to agree, we tried the harbour Kaptans and the service was appalling.Very rude almost insolent waiter, this was two years ago, would never go back. They were not too pleasant when we declined to leave a tip.!
