Kaptans restaurant on Kalamar Road Jazz night
« on: September 23, 2012, 12:58:43 PM »
We are currently in Kalkan, our first time here. We ate at Giraldo last night and had an excellent meal.
Kaptans restaurant on the Kalamar Road is near our villa and they have their Jazz night tonight. Trip Advisor gives it generally good reviews but it seems a bit hit and miss. We Re thinking of trying it tonight - looking for nice food, fun casual atmosphere can anyone advise if we should go or not?

We went twice when we were in Kalkan and loved it. Try the fishcakes..they are delicious!

Their jazz nights always seem to be well attended so if you want to go then you will need to book. I didn't have a particularly great time when I went, but as you have said it can be hit and miss. Disappointingly the 'famous' fishcakes were soggy rounds of 95% potato. The sauce was very tasty though.

Thanks for this information. We decided not to go in the end because the menu looked just a bit too pasta and pizza. Ended up eating at Odak and had a reasonably good meal. Ate at Atlantis on the Kalamar Road last night and the good was excellent which made up for the slow service, but then I think everything was cooked absolutely to order. My daughter said the Moussaka was the best she has ever had
