Cafe Vita
« on: May 03, 2012, 07:52:48 AM »
Our first venture up the Kalamar Road yesterday and discovered the Cafe Vita. Stopped for a Turkish breakfast and was not disappointed. They were VERY busy working on the terrace and we asked Mustapha what was happening. They were preparing for the first barbeque of the season.  Invitation only. He invited us to join them and we are so glad we did.  A great night, good food, nice entertainment and even a few fireworks. We'll be back.

We will definitely be going back to Cafe Vita in August.  We went to the BBQ night last year, and it was a great evening.  Apparently the chips are amazing! so looking forward to trying them this year.

The chips are good Bob & Jayne! We were staying nearby last year so called in quite a few times for lunch.
Isn't it funny how you fancy chips when you're abroad! I rarely eat them at home yet as soon as i go to Turkey i fancy chips with tomato ketchup!!

Yes Nicky, we heard they were, and ordered some at the BBQ evening, but apparently they don't serve them on BBQ nights, but in actual fact there was so much lovely food, we couldn't have managed them anyway! so are looking forward to sampling them on the 4th August!

I can second nicky re the chips. They are very good. I don't think the chef at cafe vita knows how good he actually is. We have been there many times now and have never had a bad meal. Very good value for money and pleasant and friendly staff. I also really enjoyed the Turkish breakfast there but a word of warning, unless you want a virtually raw chucky egg, always ask for it medium or well boiled.  :) last time we were there I had a Turkish breakfast accompanied by a glass of lal rose!! A definite first for me, never before have I had wine with breakfast before but it was 2pm so I suppose that's ok!

Is the barbeque on a set night and is it wise to pre book?

The BBQ is always on a Wednesday evening and usually quite crowded so it is best to book

The cost this year is £10 or 28 TL
