Cafe Vita 2009
« on: April 19, 2009, 11:04:33 AM »
We had a wonderful meal at Cafe Vita the other night - the chips are as good as ever (definitely home made).  Mustafa is such a welcoming host and his plans to expand are taking shape nicely.

Stopped by for lunch a couple times last week and Mustafa and Karola have done a good job with the expansion over the winter.  Particularly liked the new bar.  My friend had levrek (sea bass) with chips and it was excellent.  Should be another good year for them.

More fab meals at Cafe Vita.  I can thoroughly recommend the lamb curry and my OH is still raving (in so many ways!) about the mixed grill.  Oh, and the soups are the best we have ever tasted - and that includes those at five star hotels.  Advised our neighbours to try lunch/dinner there and they loved it.

Chris and I walked along to see Mustafa at The Cafe Vita last week and had Sea Bream and Kofte+ his famous chips. It was all very good and not as pricey as in Kalkan central. Never had a bad meal there and went there first just after he opened the cafe.

                            Cheers, Allan.

Have just been out to Kalkan with my mum and we were very impressed with the couple of meals we had at Cafe Vita last week. The lamb chops and kofte were lovely with a nice salad to go with them and the prices are definitely cheaper than in Kalkan centre. Have still heard mixed reviews about the time it takes to get seerved but can''t say that we noticed a problem. My mum would also recommend the trout.

Returned last week after another 2 weeks in Kalkan / Kalamar Bay.

Cafe Vita appears to be going from strength to strength with its expansion for seating area inside, along with a new seperate bar area.

Mustafa and Karola also have a new chef and the menu has been extended.

Just as we were leaving a new small Tesko market was about to open a couple of doors down from Cafe Vita. So Kalamar Bay may slowly be becoming self sufficent.

What are the prices like?  How far would you say it is from the roundabout at the start of the Klamar road.?  It sounds like it is worth the walk

Kalamar Bay that''s great news about the new small Tesko opening next to cafe Vita, and like you say every year Kalamar is becoming more and more self sufficient.

alshepuk Cafe Vita is about a 12 to 15 min walk from the start of Kalamar Road, well worth a visit just to taste the home made chips!! the prices are a lot cheaper than in town. last year a beer was 3.50TL a glass of Angora wine was 5TL, think the chips were 3TL and the home made burgers for a large one was 5TL, lots of other things on the menu very reasonably priced, Give it a try.

Hi Alshepuk ...

As Begonvil says, is about a 15 minute walk ( uphill obviously ).....about 100 metres past Elixir Hotel. You''ll appreciate a nice drink after the walk..???

Re dogs, they are no problem and each has it''s own personality.

We visited twice during our stay and it was the grand children''s favourite place to eat. Good food and good value for money. Mustafa made us feel very welcome, especially the girls.

Apologises to any of you who wanted a quiet night there on the nights we went.......The girls thought the "Turkish sitting area" was their private "stage" and subjected one and all to impromptu "shows".

Does anyone have the Website address for Cafe Vita? We were there the other night when Mustafa got in a professional photographer to take some snaps for the site. We just want to see if we appear as promised!

We were also there when he was taking the photos. The website says it is under construction. It may be that when they looked at the pictures with us on them he will have to do a re-shoot!
