Sakir and Gourmet Terrace Restaurant

Hi all, anyone know if Sakir and Co (Rachey you will prob know) are still going to be at the helm of Gourmet this coming season please.

Hi Chrissy.  Glad to say Sakir, Ibo and all the crew will be back at Gourmet.  Sakir's back from his travels in the USA and should be in Kalkan now.  He's planning some new dishes too - can't wait to try them...6 weeks tomorrow we'll be there

Thanks for that Rachey thats great to know and look foward to the new dishes, can't wait, we go 8 weeks on Friday so we prob be arriving just as you leave same as last year i think, are u trying to avoid us lol.

Our last night will be the 10 June...so if you're around then we'll be at the Yali Bar about 19:30 ish - would be great to meet you

Oh dear Rachey must have been wishful thinking if I miscalculated we actually dont fly until 15 June so will def miss you but would have been nice to meet you. Maybe one time - we are back for 2 weeks in Aug/Sep how bout you are you back later in year? have a great time anyway sure you will. Chris.

Like ships that pass in the night...   We do usually do a Sept/Oct visit as well as May/June, but this year I'm having a significant birthday so we're having 4 weeks in the USA - a week at a dude ranch in Idaho and the rest is a mystery as my lovely OH is keeping it all as a surprise!  I'm sure we'll be back to our usual 2 visits next though - hopefully!

oooh I'm also having a significant birthday this year, Rachey and are probably not making a second visit to Kalkan either. BH is organising my surprise birthday jaunt but he keeps saying things like wouldn't it be nice to bring all our friends to Kalkan

Rachey maybe we will bump into each other one day, wow sounds fabulous and hope you enjoy your mystery tour u will have to let us know what it is all about but Happy B'day and have a great time. Happy B'day to u too K4E, whatever your surprise might be!! - hope u and all yr friends enjoy it - your BH sound about as subtle as mine lol.

K4E - it would be beyond funny if we bumped into each other somewhere in the USA celebrating our birthdays!   Chrissy - thanks for the good wishes - and maybe next year in Kalkan we'll at last get to meet 

Gourmet is next door to Gironda and opposite Kalamaki - it used to be Ibo.

Thanks Chrissy, yes subtle and my BH go hand in hand....not! I think we're going to some remote Indian Ocean paradise but we'll probably end up in Kalkan - wouldn't mind though. Rachey, you never know perhaps it will be USA - we did New York for my 40th...! In the meantime I hope we manage to catch you before you go home this June.

Rachey and kalkan4eva......you lucky ladies having surprises organised for you.....my problem is that as a 'control freak'....I am quoting my family there.....I'm the one that does all the organising so I never get surprises.
Pulled off an amazing surprise for my other half's 50th though.....took him to Marrakech and kept the whole thing a surprise till we arrived at the departure gate.....obviously he knew he was going away somewhere as Gatwick was a give away

Hi folks.  Loving watching Kalkan coming to life on the webcams - and the temperature rising every day!  Just to let you know Sakir hopes to open Gourmet Terrace tomorrow (Monday 30th).  Four weeks we'll be there for paper moon and marble steak...yum.

Me too Rachey just been reading all the early 2012 restaurant reviews on here and getting so excited - 6 weeks on Friday for us, all we talked about yesterday was which restaurants to visit and what we gonna eat how sad are we . Don't forget to try the onion soup at Gourmet its fab, say hi to all and look forward to reading everyones holiday reports soon.

Hi Chrissy - following your onion soup recommendation last year, my OH tried it during our Sept visit - he loved it and had it at each of our 3 or so visits to Gourmet    Bless him, he does love an onion soup

Hi chrissy. Murat is back at Gourmet. He is such a sweetie. Wait until you meet Josef. He's one of Sakir's oldest friends and is just fab. Gourmet as good as ever and v busy.  Not had onion soup yet this visit but the paper moon was divine!!
