A question for the blokes.............
« on: April 02, 2012, 10:33:38 PM »
Long trousers, jumpers, jackets & socks. The question is...........

Will I need any/all of the above next week? (in Kalkan.............I realise I WOULD need some/all if in the UK). I consider myself to be a relatively hardy Northerner but haven't been this early before. Only have a small luggage allowance & Mrs W does't travel light.

Cheers,

PW

Yesterday.....Hot (shorts) during the day, long trousers/jumper/fleece at night. Still gets a bit chilly.

Early in the morning, until around 10.00, it is quite cool -  between 10 and 14 degrees.  The same applies once the sun starts to go down, so from about 5 p.m onwards the temperature falls to around 12 degrees, sometimes colder.  There is still quite a cool breeze so if you are not in direct sun, you may need an extra layer.

My husband is still wearing socks, a sure sign that summer has not yet arrived, he hasn't even started to consider shorts and he too is relatively hardy.

We still have a fire in the evenings and a heavyweight duvet on the bed but I am a wimp when it comes to the cold.

To save your luggage allowance, you could wear several layers, including your fleece whenyou check in, removing layers as you progress through the airport.  With snow forecast for the UK over the next few days you will probably need all those extra layers just to get you to the airport.

Allan, no matter what colour, socks and sandals are not a good look - even on holiday :)

My father-in-law will be with us this year and will be modelling the socks and sandals look.  I've tried to convince him against but he just doesn't care!

We are there next week too and I've been looking at the weather forecast. It shows a lot of rain  :'(   I'd even wear socks with my fit flops rather than wear my Wellies!!!! Please let the sun shine  8) ;) O0

Thanks for all your input...........I have decided to wear shorts at all times but might don a long sleeved top at night. I'll take socks for emergency conditions (including flip flop socks)...........if it 's cool there's no point in being miserable but I am determined to wear holiday attire.

If you're around 10 - 17/4  I would be please to compare outfits!!

Well I never!! I wish they'd been invented when I was a little girl. I'll never forget the uncomfortable feeling of my poor squashed toes when my mum made me wear socks once with my flip flops!!  :'( I still remind her now of how cruel she was  >:D  :D

Fair enough, DRBD but this is only a bit of light-hearted fun  :) And to be fair there are some posters supporting the look plus if Nike and Muji make flip flop socks there's obviously a market for them :o - and for plenty of people this is a style staple, obviously. I'm not so fond of that other male holiday look, the jumper over the shoulders combo - but its just my personal opinion
Allan, I have to say though, S&S...its not very rock and roll :-*
