Sandal £££ (but well worth it and often missed by people, they have a great chef from Istanbul), Akin ££, Fener £.

Try Fez. Fair on price but great service and menu.  And Fener too!

Good shout K123 - we love Fez - we had some amazing meals there in May/June - £35.00 for the two of us including a bottle of rose - less than we'd pay for one person here in (wet and cold) Edinburgh.  And of course Mehmet will do some card tricks too!

I would highly recommend Olive Garden, ate there twice this year. Bill was TL75 for 2 including wine. My opinion is that it is one of the most authentic turkish restaurants in Kalkan. Food and service excellent, admittedly we never have dessert as they provide the lemon cake, dough balls and chocolate sauce and in the heat of summer appetite is never what it usually is! Best to book if you want the best seats on upper tier. Interestingly this must be one of the only restaurants in Kalkan that doesn't have someone at the door trying to entice you in!

Have to agree with MSR's sentiments about the Olive Garden. We went there twice and were treated like royalty on both occasions. For us, this was our top restaurant of the holiday. Always try to book/get on the upper terrace - the views are amazing - is this the highest restaurant terrace in Kalkan?

Having said all that about the Olive Garden, all our meals in Kalkan were of the highest standard - the only SLIGHT disappointment, perhaps, was Sunset just above the town beach which was so hyped up by the owner when he pitched up at our villa. Food was OK but service not very attentive - not unfriendly, just not very friendly, if you see what I mean. Also watch out for the home-made lemonade - very, very nice and the first one they bring (for 6TL, mind) will be in a 0.5litre glass but if you order any more they come in smaller glasses but they charge you the same. In his sales pitch to us he was at pains to emphasise that his food was cheaper than other restaurants because he owned the building and did not have to pay rent. That may be so, but he hiked up the drinks prices (6TL for a large Efes which was the most we paid all holiday).

Last week we had an almost accidental meal at Bezergan's Kitchen, opposite the taxi station, we were just passing at the time when we all decided to eat. The delicious home made mezes followed by wonderful lasagne was a completely unexpected delight.

I have used Besergan's many time over the past years but usually for a lunch time Efes. That's all changed now.

We've never eaten at the Olive Garden...is that the one above Merkez?  I've heard lots of good things about it so will have to try it out when we're there in a couple of weeks.

We too love Fez - always brilliant service and the food is excellent.  Mehmet's magic tricks are fab too :)

Yes the Olive Garden is above Mercez, it is run by the same family, my son always felt embarrassed walking through Mercez (olive Garden entrance at back) until he knew this!
