Residency Costs
« on: July 09, 2011, 04:28:11 PM »
Apparently the Kalkan Belediye are now charging 250 TL for a copy of your living permission [Orturma Izni] which you need to take with you to the Police in Kemer when you apply for Residency

A few weeks ago they did it for free

This will add some 49% extra cost to your application

So when you go for it , take some cash !!

Does everyone need one when they apply for residency? Do a couple get a joint one?
If you have a tapu, is it still required?
I have  new passport now, so able to apply at last - typical if the cost has increased already!!

This is the link to KTLN but it appears to be a little vague at the moment.

http://kalkan.turkishlocalnews.com/portal/component/content/article/67-residency-and-visas/55-obtaining-residency

When we obtained our Residency about 6 weeks ago it was a requirement and the Police in Kemer did look at it and kept a copy

We had a TAPU which was in joint names and therefore had only one Orturma Izni which we copied - it seemed to be a requirement then so just because the cost has increased I don't see why it won't be one now-but who knows !!

Hi

I renewed my residency 2 weeks ago, I paid the 250tl for oturma izni at the belediye.  Guess what got to Kemer, they didn't want to see it nor did they want to see any of my utility bills ie electricity or water.  Kemer seems to be pretty inconsistent about what is required.  What they wanted from me was original tapu plus copy, original bank book plus letter from bank, tax code number and passport. Worth noting that I also renewed my British passport but took my old one with me, good job I did because what Kemer wanted to see was last entry stamp into Turkey which was on my old one so bear that in mind.

Most of the paperwork/documents required won't cost you, what will is the oturma izni, mine was a 5 page document that proved to be a total waste of money.  May be worth talking to British Consulate to see if they can establish what is needed because Kemer seem to chop and change, also think depends who processes your application on the day, some are lovely, some can be a little more fussy.  KTLN's list of requirements is accurate it is just this issue with oturma izni which needs clarifying.  Hope this helps.

John

When I said the article from KTLN was vague and now need clarification, I was only referring to the subject of the Orturma Izni, as that what was being discussed here on the Forum - if you thought that I had inferred anything else I apologise

The rest of the article on KTLN is very clear  as to the requirements for Residency
