Turkish bath question?
« on: May 01, 2011, 05:56:22 PM »
Hi all , in all the years we've been going to Turkey we've never had a Turkish bath and we've said that this time we'll give it a try. I've read some of the old posts on this subject and we've decided on trying the Kalkan Regency as it looks really nice plus it's not too far from our hotel where we are staying, anyway, this might sound daft but what is the dress code , do we wear our swimwear or do they just wrap towels around you? Thanks for your help, counting down the weeks now!! Oh, would you recommend us booking before we go as i understand it's better to have it done on your first day.
Many thanks, Nicky.

We had a great Turkish bath at Patara Prince they even do a free collection service from your hotel or apartment. We just wore swim wear and as you say the first day is the best. Prices were 25gbp for the Turkish bath upto 40gbp including a massage and face mask.

We have used The Kalkan Regency Turkish baths for the past  8 years while staying there. The masseurs, both from the same family are both excellent. The dress code is simply swimwear but they do give you a traditional wrap to wear too. For women this is from chest level and men around the waist. They also give you wooden clogs to wear which are impossible to walk in but funny to see others struggle in! If happy in a bikini you get a better scrub than a full swimsuit. You are left to steam for about 15 minutes before your treatment starts. They tend to do the men first so the girls get to see what is coming. They tend to do a couple together or a group if you are all together. Although there is a good massage included in the treatment we also enjoy an oil massage to follow. THis really moisturiser your body before a week in the sun. The relaxation area to follow complete with Turkish tea or cucumber water is so relaxing and you come out feeling so relaxed and so smooth. The start of your holiday is best and I would recommend booking since all Exclusive Escape guests get a complimentary Turkish bath included in their holiday. Monday and Tuesday tend to be busy. Enjoy where ever you choose.

Many thanks for your replies, very helpful. We will go with the Kalkan regency Suziq as it sounds fabulous! Also fancy booking one of their beauty treatments for later in the holiday whilst Hubby goes for his Turkish shave.

Do they give you a face mask at patara prince so people don't recognise your jiggly bits?

We had a Turkish Bath, face mask  and Full massage at Atlantis last week while on Holiday. Total price was 95TL.  Turkish bath on its own is 28TL.

Seems like very good value compared to the hotels and we certainly enjoyed it

Slightly off topic, but keeping with the beauty treatment theme, does anyone know if Saime is back this year at Elite (under Sofra). Best pedicures in Kalkan, in my opinion :)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)
