2011 Car Hire

 As there's no rates available for EK/Adda car hire it looks like it's back to Holiday Autos again this year.........................unless anyone can recommend a good alternative to pick up and return to Dalaman. So here's a challenge: Where can I get a car for a fortnight for under £400?

Try Metro cars at Dalaman. Used them last year and they were excellent.  Prices good too.

Brave Tours will definitely be less than £400 for 2 weeks.  They will leave a car at the airport for you or if you prefer offer you a courtesy driver at the same cost.  They are updating their website now (www.kalkanrentcar.com) so not available at the moment and have asked that they be contacted at info@bravetours.com  Excellent service offering new, fully insured cars.  Personally I prefer to use a local company and then if there should be any problems they can be rectified immediately.

We have used Semra for three years for all our transfers and car hire, she's really reliable. You can contact her at info@kalkantransport.com her costs in peak season are £22 a day

Like BevJam I have used Semra for a few years now for our own transfers and also almost all our guests have booked their transfers and car hire through her.    I have found her efficient and friendly and we have never had complaints from any guests.

We used ADDA last year and they never showed up at the airport and have never contacted us since. An Adda taxi driver was brill and organised Brave tours to sort a car out for us. Brand new car and great service. £25 a day (£175 for the week) Simples....

Try Abi Travel  www.abitravel.net  We use them and they are less than £400 for 2 weeks.  They will deliver the car to Dalaman and you can return it there  for no extra charge if you rent it for one week or longer.  email abitravel@abitravel.net.

Just to endorse www.dalamancars.com. I have booked a Fiat Albea for 2 weeks late June for £252.All in no excess. Pay when you get there in sterling.Unbeatable, & reviews on tripadvisor are good.

Hi Johnjen

I thought I'd take a look at Dalaman Cars web site for a quote following your endorsement. The online quote looks good, but would you know if you get any further discount for dealing more direct with them i.e. telephone?  Also, do you know where car collection and paperwork is done from, is it on site at the airport or are clients expected to go elsewhere and find there own way to an office?

you are met at the airport & taken to their office which is at the Opet petrol station just outside the airport complex.The paperwork is then done there.I doubt whether you would get any further discount,they are already far cheaper than their competitors.I think there is a  british partner in the company,as my e mail contact is a guy called John & u can just tell by the grammar & spelling etc.

I would also recommend Dalaman Cars. Have used them on a number of occaisions and am using them again this year. First class service and good cars (no old wrecks).
We were met ouside the airport and the car was in the airport short stay car park, we did all the paperwork etc there and then left. We dropped the car back to their office which as said above is right by the Opet petrol station just before the airport.

I too have booked Dalaman cars, for our trip in 3 weeks time, £210 for 2 weeks. We usually use pandora car hire but dalaman cars beat them on price this time.
Booked the car hire on line and had a reply with in 12 hrs to confirm everything and they send you a voucher that you have to print off and take with you.
 
This will be the first time we have used Dalaman cars and if they prove to be good we shall be booking them for our trip in June which I have had a quote for £238 for 2 weeks.
 
I also think someone English is involved in this company, like Johnjen said you can just tell by the grammer and spelling!!!

Does the insurance include full damage waive in the price?

Peterwilka, just had a look at our booking confirmation, and this is what the rental agreement includes, 2 main drivers free of charge,all local taxes, insurance and delivery charges are included in the rates, but please note that damage to windscreen, headlights and tyres is not covered by Turkish insurance policies. Additional optional cover can be purchased at a cost of 3 GBP per day for cars!!

full CDW with no excess.As Begonvil says windscreens,tyres etc not covered,but that is typical of all Turkish car hire.It really is a no brainer at the price.In short what you get is a similar aged car,same insurance,similar number of drivers free (some others charge for a second driver)all at less than 2/3 price of others.

Do you normally pay the extra for the headlight/tyre/windscreen cover? Must admit I'm not inclined to.
