Kalkan in January
« on: January 13, 2011, 06:22:48 PM »
I came to Kalkan a few years back and am travelling there from 18-25 January to take a look at a few properties with a view to buying a holiday home.  I realise that it is completely out of season and therefore will be extremely quiet with not a lot open, however I would love to hear from anybody that is there or has been recently who can tell me what I can expect in terms of places being open?  Both local & the more touristy places.  Many thanks.

We have just returned after spending an enjoyable time over the new year.
There are a few bars, cafes and restaurants open, all supermarkets as normal and the thursday market is still on all but smaller due to tourist type stalls missing.

Just bear in mind that now the Christmas/New Year festivities are over, quite a few more restaurants/cafes will have closed.
The weather can be good during the day, it's a bit wetter this winter, very cold at night, but like everywhere else in the world it is subject to the changes.
Enjoy.
