Bus service Antalya to Kalkan
« on: January 16, 2011, 12:29:23 PM »
I am arriving in Antalya on Tuesday afternoon and was planning to drive to Kalkan.  However, I believe it goes dark at about 5.30pm and the road is fairly treacherous.  I am now thinking of staying overnight in Antalya and taking the bus on Wednesday morning.  Does anybody have any information on the bus service and departure times?  Many thanks.

There is a regular bus service via the coast road (www.batiantalyatur.net).  The site is in Turkish but has a translator link for English.

Bati Antalya also operate a regular bus service via the mountain route.  It's about 30 mins shorter.  I caught one at about 10.30 from Antalya a couple of months ago.  Not sure about the timetable but think it's about every 2 hours.

Is there any bus out of antalya airport now or, is it still taxi only?
I am asking this because I was in Antalya last year and saw that the new tramway starts a couple of kms outside the airport at the Meydan stop on Aspendos Blvd, and runs right into the Otogar. Has anyone used this service to get to or, from the airport?
There - over there, there are.            To - Going to
Their - belongs to them.                     Too - In addition, Also
They're - Short for they are.

grumpygrampy, we used the tramway around the city but to get from the airport to the otogar you should be able to get bus number 202 from outside the Domestic Terminal. Don't know if or how often they run this time of year though.

Thanks for that littlelin. Sorry to be a pain but, is that a city bus or, the Havas bus that just goes to the city centre?
I had a look at the airport website but although the FAQ's says there is a guide, I cannot find it.

It's a normal city bus. We got it back to the airport in October from the Otogar and it dropped us right outside the domestic terminal, which is only a few yards from the International Terminal.

We got the Bati antalya bus from Kalkan when we left Kalkan in December, only 20 lira each, then when we arrived at the otogar in antalya we got on the 202 to the domestic terminal (it took just over an hour) as it went all round antalya, but at 1.75 each it was well worth it, we then walked over to Terminal 2 (terminal 1 was closed), so our journey out was at a brilliant cost of 43lira for the two of us.

We would have done the same when we come back next week but our flight gets in too late as the last bus is 5.30pm, so we have booked a transfer instead.

We will use the bus again (flight times permitting) and can recommend others use it as it is a big saving, if you dont mind the actual longer time it takes to get to your destination.

Actually, I'm looking at coming into Antalya next year. (This years visits are already booked into DLM.(99 days to go)).
Thanks very much for the info on service 202, littlelin amd moumou.
I would love to find out how often they run from the airport. If anyone goes this route this year could you ask for me please?

It's good to have this additional information - thanks all.  We were going to try and take the bus and see what the journey was like, but with the 1+ hour transfer from the airport to the actual bus station we would not have made it for the last bus at 5.30pm.  Hired a car and drove instead.  Maybe next time!

Many thanks MouMou.
I spent far too long the other day looking for that info in the wrong places. I even emailed the customer services at the airport. (They didn't reply.)

Here's the reply I got from customer services at Antalya airport to my question regarding the timing of the city buses from the airport.

Transportation to the  1st International Terminal, 2nd International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal is provided by Taxis, Public Buses and Coaches belonging to Airline companies.

Taxi fare is the same as the city fare and is available 24 hours.

Public Buses work between 6:10 and 01:10, every 20 minutes in the summer between the Airport and the city.

HavaÅŸ is providing coach service for the Domestic Terminal and its trip times are regulated according to landing times. http://www.havas.net/en/shuttle-parking/antalya/

Coaches belonging to Airline companies are also working according to landing times.

Best Regards,

Depending on traffic and time of day, about 30-50 minutes as I recall.

In october last year,my taxi from the airport took 15-20 mins,at about 4.30pm,but he wasnt hanging about, hence
use the seat belt and close your eyes. This was to my hotel in the Kaleici, but I suppose it depends on which part of Antalya you are staying.
