New Topic re Dentist's
« on: August 31, 2010, 07:28:59 PM »
Got a message in red to start new topic as last was in 2009 so am doin g so  ;)
I have had a long standing phobia with dentists and haven't been except for emergency extractions for 20 years or so (amazingly have the majority of them) Tried to overcome this recently but it didnt work out well (wont bore you with why). I need a front cap replaced and now a tooth has broken and I am flying on Monday. Noticed Cenk was reccomended highly last year so a) do people know if he is still there; b) any idea if he or anyone else puts you out for treatment.

Thanks for any advise given.
Many thanks
Michelle

I believe Cenk is still in Kalkan.  I had quite a lot of work done by him last year (crowns) and was very pleased with the results. The cost was very reasonable as well.  I had local anesthetics during the treatment and did not have any problems.

when you say 'local anesthetic' do you mean in the gums or in the arm?

I had two fillings done by Cenk earlier this year and didn't feel a thing. He sprays the gums first to numb them before injecting anaesthetic. I'd have no hesitation in returning to him for treatment. Like you bad experiences had put me off going to dentists in UK. I emailed him a week or so before to book an appointment cenksahinkalkan@hotmail.com

Both my wife and I have had bridges done by Cenk and I had major root canal work done - have to say that he is an excellent dentist, and neither of us had any pain whatsoever. Our own dentist in the U.K. comments on the high standard of work he produces.

Hi
I too have a dentist phobia, and really struggled with the UK NHS dentists. However I have been going to Mr Cenk for a few years now and have had root canal and crowns done. I told him I was an awful patient, and told him what I found really scary at the dentists, and he has always done his best to put me at my ease! Tell him how you feel and I am sure you will be fine.

lorilou - we get major treatments done by Cenk as they hugely cheaper than you would pay in the U.K. the money we save gives us more to spend in Kalkan... ;D

This is very interesting .... and no doubt an indecently plausible excuse for an extra week! I am now liking this idea very much...  :D

The broad subject matter here in this community never fails to amaze me.

From the roundabout he's just along on the right hand side above the Xpress Tours office I think. You'll see his sign and the entrance is round the back and up the flight of stairs.

Hi again.
Cenk also sprayed my gums before giving me the anesthetic so did not feel a thing, when I went back to the uk and had my usual check up with my own dentist I was dreading what he would say but he was very complementary about the work done and said it was to a very high standard. He asked me how much I paid and he was staggered and said if he had dlone it it would have cost me at least three times the amount. So dont worry.

500TL for teeth whitening using the Zoom ultra violet light method.  Takes one visit lasting 90 minutes. 4-5 shade improvement backed up by before and after photographs.
