Turkish carpets

I am interested in buying a couple of carpets to have shipped back to the UK.  I have bought carpets and kilims in Kalkan and Fethiye for our villa but wondered if anyone has bought outside these places.  I am told prices are cheaper away from tourist destinations and given that I expect to buy quite large expensive carpets I would be interested in knowing of anyone's experience.

we bought one from the carpet co operative thats near Sakient gorge, huge selection and you see the process of manufacture.
Yes, it's a tourist stopping place but they do explain what you are buying, have a huge choice of traditional and modern designs, show you how to spot a cheap inferior rug and are cheaper than buying in the tourist towns.
Included in the price was postage to the UK, our rug  arrived 3 weeks after purchase.
