mozzies...are they out there???????

last call for flight iminei....yes i am definitely in full headless chicken mode...and suddenly it struck me....MOZZIES???

please can you all with your wisdom and knowledge tell me if they are indeed out there at this time of the year (Last week August - first week September) and how many millions of the little blighters i should be prepared to expect?

also any parts of Kalkan worse than others for the blighters.....

Iminie, yes you'll bump into the little blighters this time of year, got bitten to bits this time last year but not as bad as this past June by the flipping black spiders! Not trying to put you off though, I'm flying out tomorrrow morning, it'll take more than a few bites to put me off Kalkan. Feel like a big kid, can't wait

In Kalamar there is only one mosquito - his name is Morris and he lives with us but he is no threat to anyone

kalamar is lucky then, but I'm coming to Kalkan proper (i think, Rhapsody hotel?) and I'm worried about morris's many cousins!

We were really surprised....  did not use any repellant - left it all at the hotel...  usually we find mozzy's in turkey a problem - but nothing in kalkan - not even sighting of them...?

just remembered - in 07 when using and researching Kalkan on this forum...the recommendation was to use Avons - skin so soft dry oil spray (blue bottle)  to help repel the mozzys - I duely purchased some and always use it when we holiday abroad - and it works!!  I cannot find any old threads about it though - can anyone else remember...?
We took some this time - but did not have the need for it at all....
