Can anyone suggest the best cream, spray etc etc to protect against the dreaded Kalkan mossies?

For me Zofff purchased from any of the shops in town tried all the expensive stuff from Boots etc etc still got bit !!! Switched to Zoff not a single bite after that same went for my 12 year old son

I swear by this stuff you can buy at Blacks, or Milletts.  It''s called Expedition 50 Insect Repellent, by Lifesystems.  We go for the 50% DEET content which is 6 quid for 100mls.  No bites in the whole 2 weeks.  Pretty harsh stuff - it was actually removing the nail varnish from my toes...

  I have a three pronged approach. Take vitamin B everyday (it really works), use 50% deet spray, and have one of those magnificent mozzie zappers. You can get them for £1.99 each on Amazon.
Shall be putting this into practice from Friday. Hope to meet up with some of you over next two weeks when we will be in Kalkan, can''t wait!

if you do get bitten, I find the electrical zapper thing you can get from boots very good to stop the bites itching. You just click it on the bite 5 or 6 times.Paul

Also found Anthisan great if you get bitten, stops the itch and prevents them from swelling (which in the past mine tended to do)

The best treatment for nasty bites, I have found is Silex(?sp), it costs 10 lire from the Chemists in Kalkan and really works.

Think it''s called Stylix, Joan (mine''s in the bathroom cupboard in Kalkan so I can''t check!!) and it''s a tropical strength anti-allergy gel which is BRILLIANT for taking the sting and itch out of bites!!!
