Places what I ate at.
« on: June 29, 2010, 01:45:34 PM »
just back from a week in Kalkan. Speedy reviews as follows: Aubergine was a real treat - expensive but classy; NB some of the meals have to be orderd a day in advance, which is a nuisance. NAR is also very refined, loved the version of the BBQ that they do. Omar Sheeriff's Brother is a real low-key treasure, great shish food, and unexepectedly beauiful views from plastic tables & chairs! Ali Baba's = good value, but don't leave it too late or you'll just get aged left overs. Cafe del Mar - lovely decor, great teas & smothies. Korsan Kebap - terrific quality and service. Rami's terrace - over-streteched staff and uninspiring menu. Olive Garden = quality all the way - save room for the ice cream desserts. Alterantif - good steaks and the friendliest service possible. Enjoy - and bring some elasticated trousers! Baggers

  Ha ha, we ate there one lunch time two years ago. I like to try places that seem more authentic, but from memory the prices weren't as cheap and cheerful as the setting.

We took preacutions - Efes seems to kill 99% of all known germs (in sufficient quantities).

I have to totally agree with you Baggers!!   Efes is a total germ repellent as far as myself and my girlfriends are concerned and if you feel a tad rough in the morning a large can works wonders at settling the stomach so much better than any antacid!!
