Additional passenger information
« on: May 27, 2010, 09:30:10 AM »
Just recieved an E Mail from Easyjet requesting Additional Passenger Information..(API).....this is passport information.....i have contacted them to ensure it's genuine as we have never had to go give this before......It is apparently "New legislation" so don't be alarmed if you recieve one for your booking  ;)

maybe it replaces those little white cards we used to fill out on the plane?

Hi RosiB, who is it that you are flying with? We booked our summer flights in January with easy jet and had to provide our passport information as soon as we booked, if you are flying with easy jet you can log on to there site and put your booking ref in and fill the details in on line, this also applies with fly thomas cook.

I have also booked flights for November with fly thomas cook and had to put the details in even before we paid.

If i was you I would contact your airline better to be safe then sorry!

Enjoy your holiday!!!!

Hi Ros I think it can be done at the airport in an emergency but holds things up. I had to do a form on line with Thomas Cook in March, but this time I booked with Pegasus and I think it asked me for passport information when I was booking. If you have given info on line including passport number then most likely you have already done it
See you soon, Ruth x

If anyone has booked with Aegean Flights ,if you go into the my booking section there is now a API form to fill in.We booked in November for flights in August & I would have thought they would have e-mailed about this new requirement. They didn't so I only found it by chance.

we flew with easyjet twice last year and had to give all the details.....no one has stolen our identities yet....or maybe they looked at the details and decided they weren't stealing >:D

I'm sure its fine as you have had to do this to fly to the USA for some time

Hi there,

I flew out to Dalaman with Monarch the 2nd week of May and i had to complete an API.  It had to be completed seven days before travel and if it hadnt been for my best mate spotting the dates and the time i could well have been refused travel as stated on the form. However it was very simple and quick to fill out but make sure no mistakes are made as once it has been submitted it cannot be changed.!!!

My husband is flying out with Kiss flights in late June and they have told me that the carrier will collect the info at check in.

This is really no big deal. British Airwaysand Turkish Airlines were collecting this additional info last year for long-haul flights and if you don't fill in your passport info online for the airline, you will simply do it at check-in when you hand your passport over to the airline staff. Simples :)

According to Thomas Cook E Borders info "From 20th January2010, bookings created that are due to depart the UK from 1st Feb onwards, please be aware of the following: For entry to Dalaman, you must provide Advanced Passenger Info between 3 months and 7 days before departure" www.fco.gov.uk

Flying in September 2010, Monarch/Avro arrangement. After reading this page I 'phoned Avro and was told that no API was necessary on this booking!

We fly out on the 10th July with easy jet, had a email of them last Saturday to remind us about the API!!!
It also said if you fail to give this information or incorrect information you may not be able to fly!

I think I'd be happier giving this information on line and in advance rather than experience the horrendous check in experience with Pegasus when we flew back to Manchester at the start of June. They were collecting the information at check in and the delays were ridiculous - it took us over 2 hours to get through to departures. Flying with Easy Jet at the end of July and they have asked for the passport information in advance which will hopefully make things easier.

We flew with easyJet last October and had to supply the API when we booked in August. When we booked for this year (again with easyJet) we weren't required to input it again. Wonder if it started earlier for flights from Manchester??
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Think once you have flown with Easy Jet your information may be stored for future bookings.
