Villas in Kalkan

Hi, i'm a new member to the forum and first timer next year to Kalkan.  Just in process of trying to book a four bed villa with pool for August next year and finding it a bit of a headache.  Does anyone know villas just above the Kas Road.  Says a ten min walk to town on the blurb but how true?

You should Google: Owners Direct UK

They are an Epsom based company in the UK and have many Villas listed for rental direct from the Owners in kalkan

Hi and welcome to EK

We have an apartment above the Kas Road and it really does depend on how far the villa is above the road to determine how long the walk is but it can be 10-15 minutes
 
We love being up there, our view is amazing, there are cooler breezes of an evening, and while we do walk in of an evening it's probably too steep to walk back up to so we always get a taxi back - 10tl before midnight and 15tl after.

Thanks for the quick responses.  The villa in question in called Villa Bellapais, maybe you know it.  I'm going ahead with the booking this weekend but just needed a little reassurance.  Thanks for giving it.

Have tried this website for accomodation but it keeps expiring on me.  Can you advise if it is best to stay on the Kalamar Road area or above Kas Road.Any input would be v helpful.  Thanks

Owners Direct website is where I found Villa Bellapais. Looks nice villa and going ahead with it.  Just wondered if Kalamar Road/Kalamar area was nicer and maybe easier access in and out of town.

I would suggest that access to the town from Bellapais is better than from Kalamar area, but also steeper on the way back up.

We were in a villa across the Kas road a couple of weeks ago and as previous post suggests - way down fine but depending on how you feel(or how much alcohol has been consumed) you may want to get a taxi back. Loved this area as it was nice and quiet with great views over the bay.

I would think it would be too hot to walk back in the daytime in August and probably a bit hard work after a meal and drinks.  As others say, that location has its benefits but I definitely wouldn't go any higher than that level if you want to be able to walk.

Hi, just my views having returned home recently.
Our Villa was at the end of Kalamar road away from the town Centre. I found the walk just right for me, however my young children found it a little much as the day got on. I couldn't have had a better position as far as tranquility goes.
Our Villa was lovely, 3 bed (had it's own separate flat downstairs for my in laws). I could imagine the views from above the KAS road to be astounding but to hell with climbing that after an Efes or two.

Thanks for everyones help.  We have now booked TK1219 thro Ownersdirect.  Looks v nice and most other places we liked were booked on the dates we wanted.  Great site.  Will no doubt be posting more enquiries in the future.  Kalkan was my suggestion for our family hols next year.  Never heard of it before a friend at work recommended it.  Am really looking forward to it and seems we wont be disappointed.  We want nice hot weather and great meals out so Kalkan looks just the ticket.
