I notice on the Accu weather website that the week when we commence our holiday, 7th September, there is a drop in temperature and also clouds forecast!
Is the weather being affected by the dreadful fires in Greece?  From which way does the prevailing weather come?  Please do not get me wrong, my heart goes out to all those poor Greeks who are badly affected.

Hi maryjane

We go to Kalkan on the 7th Sept also.  Just had a look at Accuweather and it says low 30's, sunny/mostly sunny.  Lets hope for the best!  :)

Accu Weather only forecasting a chance of a shower tomorrow and mostly sunny for next 14 days.
Weather forecasting at best is usually innaccurate. Look at the BBQ summer we were promised in the Uk ???
Try not to worry too much and hopefully the sun will shine for you. Whatever the weather it's bound to be much better than back home!

I'm due to fly on Saturday (12th) - the forecast for the north of England - hot and sunny....the forecast for Kalkan - not so!  Cloud and rain!  I don't believe it!  It's rained here non-stop for the last 4 weeks... (give or take 10 mins)... fingers are definitely crossed that the forecast for Kalkan is WRONG and it's going to be hot and sunny, as is normal for this time of year :o)

Only one way to find out!

We had two weeks there returning last Monday and the weather was absolutely fabulous, hot and sunny every day in the thirties, hardly a cloud to be seen 8). Can't imagine there being a drastic change. Came back to sunny weather in Wales :o, thank goodness a bit of summer at last, will be able to keep the tan topped up at least for a while. Hope you have great weather over there I'm sure you will, even if you have an odd off day can't think of a better place to spend one. Have a wonderful holiday, I'm very jealous!! >:D

Have you seen the weather on the web cam, it's looking pretty grim, very cloudy & grey, still rather be there than here though!!

There are some very dark clouds below the top of the hill as I type, it looks slightly brighter out to sea. We were warned of a storm yesterday but it didn't materialise & there were storms in the area on Tuesday night but they missed Kalkan. Rumours persist in town of a heavy storm to hit Fetihye, Kalkan & Kas but no-one seems sure of the timing.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

We've been here nearly one week now and it's been gorgeous most of the time but overcast a couple of days.  It's been cloudy for most of today and we've just had some very heavy rain with a bit of thunder but it's stopped now....looks like it'll start again before tonight though! There are big dark clouds creeping down over the mountains behind us (we're in the Kelebek).  All the locals we've spoken to today say there's going to be a big storm tonight then lots of rain tomorrow - am hoping after that it'll be back to brilliant sunshine and 30 degrees for next week!  I need some more sun!

It was not that bad. Anyone would have thought Armageddon was upon us. We had a little rain. It was not the big one, but a damp squid one.

Yes, it went so dark and windy I thought it was going to be much bigger but tailed off after a bit and back to clouds now.... Oh well.

Fear not!

Looking at the webcam it looks like it has cleared up and checking www.weather.co.uk it says:

28C for the next 10 days with 20% chance of rain, today, Sunday. Then 0% chance of rain for the next 9 days. There may be a tiny bit of cloud on Wednedsay!

Enjoy every sun blessed minute!

Cheers

Steve

We've heard from others who are out there that there's been a freak storm...? Selfishly I'm hoping that any freak weather is done and dusted by the time we get there in early October >:D. At least I'm honest
The live webcam shows lovely weather today, although I can't get into the KTLN site to look on the town webcam (my favourite pastime!)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

It's getting hotter by the minute. I would post a photo whilst you are waiting for the webcam to come back up but that would be cruel
