New Customs Laws
« on: August 22, 2009, 01:27:12 PM »
There are new laws coming in regarding counterfit goods. Now it's just not the seller that can be prosecuted, the buyer will also face prosecution. The interesting bit is the way you will be fined at customs......take the original value of the genuine item double it and that's your fine....so a LV handbag which may retail at £700....your fine will be £1400 this will apply to every item you have in your possession. So be careful next time you are tempted to by some of the fake rubbish on sale in the weekly market and bring it home.

As far as I am aware this new law only applies in France and Italy at the present time.
